CVS and the forums contribute to Sefton's position statement relating to the Respect Strategy and Civil Renewal Strategy. CVS has also entered into partnership with HMP Kennet, the new prison in Maghull, promoting partnership with the wider VCF sector in Line with the National Offender Management Services agenda. Sefton Equalities PartnershipWorking with Sefton Council, CVS facilitates the multi-agency Sefton Equalities Partnership which was launched during 2006. The Partnership is developing a strategic equality and diversity framework across key partner agencies. Visit www.seftonequality.org.uk for more information. Other partnership work includes:- CVS acts as vice chair to the Southport Partnership and facilitates VCF involvement via the Southport and Formby VCF Forum. - CVS undertook local consultation as part of the successful submission of the Sefton and Liverpool Enterprise Growth Initiative (SLEGI) bid. CVS also supports a community representative who sits on the SLEGI board. - CVS has participated in the development of Sefton's Cultural Strategy Version Two and coordinated VCF Consultation on the document. CVS acts as Chair to the Sefton Cultural Forum. - CVS has facilitated the Transform environmental network's engagement in the development of Sefton's Green Spaces Strategy. - CVS is continuing to work with partner organisations in supporting the principles of the Compact, a partnership protocol for national and local government and other organisations informing how they work with the VCF sector. Sefton has developed its own Compact, which has been adopted by the SBP (Sefton Borough Partnership) as the model for collective working. Sub-regional Partnerships- Sefton CVS acts as the lead and accountable body for Greater Merseyside ChangeUp and facilitates the ChangeUp consortium of VCF infrastructure organisations working in Greater Merseyside. - Sefton CVS is the CVS representative for Merseyside on the Greater Merseyside Connexions Partnership Board. - Sefton CVS acts as the lead and accountable body for VOLA (Voluntary Organisation Learning Association), Greater Merseyside’s new voluntary, community and faith sector Learning Consortium. - The Chief Executive of Sefton CVS works alongside those of the other five CVS in the area - Liverpool, Knowsley, Halton, Wirral and St. Helens - on developing joint projects and strategies. Regional WorkingCVS is a member of the Five Counties Partnership which comprises of the ChangeUp lead bodies for Merseyside, Cumbria, Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire. The group is working closely with regional bodies to formulate a plan for VCF infrastructure and delivery across the North West.
