The Children's Workforce Development Coordinator role is a joint initiative between Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Young People’s Advisory Service, Sefton CVS and Sefton Council, which will support the private, voluntary and independent (PVI) sectors’ children’s workforce in regards to workforce development. The aim of the role is to: • Support and enable the workforce development of the PVI sector organisations working with children and young people. • Enhance the involvement of the PVI sectors in workforce planning strategic planning processes and develop mechanisms for monitoring engagement and participation in workforce development activity. • Increase knowledge of provision and training requirements via workforce analysis and mapping. • Examine training opportunities for volunteers and develop specialist training for volunteers. Practical examples of the support the Children’s Workforce Development Coordinator can give include advice and in-house training around workforce development issues, supporting recruitment, information and support with writing funding bids for workforce development, developing and delivering bespoke training around the common core.
