The Developing Communities Team in north and south Sefton provide advice and support to empower voluntary and community groups to become more efficient, effective and sustainable. Groups can receive assistance on a wide range of issues, such as the processes involved in becoming a charity, how to manage a building and the development of appropriate policies and procedures. The Developing Communities Team offer support under the following headings: Organisational Support - New group start-up support - Support on governance and committee skills - Advice on legal structures including registered charity, company ltd. by guarantee. - Diagnosis and quality assurance work - Policy development (including child protection policy support) Project Support - Action planning for activities - Project and business planning support - Service user engagement - Publicity/marketing - Managing projects and activities - Managing buildings - Risk assessment - Monitoring and evaluation Fundraising and Sustainability Development of funding strategies Provision of funding information, advice and training Support with grant applications Advice and support with other funding sources (statutory; public/community; income generation) This support is delivered through a range of information sources (online, publications) in addition to one-to-one advice and support.
