Mental Health

Mental health and wellbeing is a key priority in Sefton. Sefton CVS provides support to those who deliver these services and those who receive them. It aims to improve mental health and wellbeing and gives opportunities for individuals and VCF organisations to share their views about mental health issues, including policy, strategy and service provision.

Mental Health Working Group

The Mental Health Working Group is a subgroup of the Health and Social Care Forum. It brings together voluntary, community and faith (VCF) organisations with an interest in mental health. The aims of the group are to:

  • develop partnership
  • influence policy and service development
  • work with statutory and other providers.

Current activities and priorities:

Bi-monthly meetings
Including presentations on services, strategic developments, funding and consultation opportunities, new initiatives and providing an opportunity for services to share information and network.

Sharing Good Practice

Updates on Initiatives and Strategic Developments
Particularly in relation to changes to mental health services locally.

Membership of the working group is open to VCF organizations who are members of the Health and Social Care Forum, however, you are welcome to receive information and attend meetings as non-member.

Mental Health Service User Forum

As service-users have firsthand experience of mental health services, they are well placed to provide feedback and express any views or concerns about the services they have received. These views can be represented to others, e.g., mental health commissioners and service providers with the aim of improving services available. The aims of the forum are to:

  • raise standards
  • promote mental health
  • work with statutory partners

Current activities and priorities:

The Forum is always welcoming of new members. Membership is open to Sefton residents who access mental health services or have done in the past, including those provided by statutory, private, voluntary, community and faith organisations.
