Networks

Sefton CVS coordinates networks and forums in order for the voluntary community and faith sector’s voice, experience and reach is an integral part of making change happen in Sefton.

Geographic

There are two geographic forums:

Network South

Network South brings organisations together that have a geographic interest and provide services and activities that cover the areas of Seaforth, Crosby, Blundellsands, Waterloo, Litherland Bootle, Netherton, Aintree and Maghull. This forum has strategic links to the Area Partnerships of Crosby, South Sefton and Sefton East.

Southport & Formy VCF Forum

Southport and Formby VCF Forum is facilitated for those organisations involved in the areas of Southport and Formby. This forum has strategic links to the Area Partnerships of Southport and Formby.

Thematic forums:

Children, Young People & Families

The Children, Young People and Families Forum (Every Child Matters) coordinates those organisations that are committed to delivering quality services and outcomes for children, young people and families in Sefton. The network is linked in with the key local decision-making strategic bodies and structures.

Health & Social Care Forum

The Health and Social Care Forum develops and raises awareness of the work of sector organisations that are involved in improving the health and quality of life of adults and older people living and working in Sefton. The network is linked in with the key local decision-making strategic bodies and structures.

Mental Health Service User Forum

The Mental Health Service Users Forum is a forum whereby mental health service users can meet with commissioners to shape and influence services to meet local needs.

Faith Network

The Faith Network coordinates all Faiths that are engaged in the communities within Sefton. The network exists to ensure Sefton’s Faith communities have a voice in local decision-making bodies.

Local Involvment Networks (LINks)

LINks is an independant structure whereby residents and VCF groups can have their say on the design and delivery of local health and adult care services. CVS facilitate:

  • Sefton LINks
  • Knowsley LINks

Equalities Forums

Ability Network

The Ability network exists to ensure the disability community has a voice in local decision-making bodies and structure. Membership of the Network is open to individual disabled people, living and working in Sefton, and to sector organisations that provide services.

Equal Voice

Equal Voice promotes active participation and engagement of all Sefton’s black minority ethnic organisations and communities. The network exists to ensure the sector is linked in with the key local decision-making bodies and structures.

Embrace

Embrace exists to ensure the LGB community has a voice in local decision-making bodies and structures. Membership is open to all lesbians, gay men and bisexual people both living and working in Sefton and to agencies working with lesbians, gay men and bisexual people.

In-Trust Network

The In-Trust Network is for men and women with a transgendered or intersex history. The network helps to raise awareness of the many issues facing transgender people in their everyday lives both in employment and service provision. The network exists to ensure the transgender community has a voice in local decision-making bodies and structures.

Fawcett Society

The Society supports women who live or work in Sefton and seeks to promote equality between men and women. This is a virtual network and links with the Fawcett Society nationally.

Why be involved in a Forum or Network?


It is an opportunity to:

  • Share information and good practice with others
  • Receive briefings and updates on national and local policy
  • Provides the conduit and fields sector representatives to engage in local partnerships and strategic developments within the borough
  • Engender a spirit of collectivism and collaboration within the sector
  • lobby and influence on matters of concern
